When I was planning our trip to Amsterdam I really wanted to see also some tulip fields. It was my dream for a long time to see the tulips in Netherland 🙂 When doing my usual travel research I came across “the Garden of Europe” called Keukenhof. It looked really lovely but I was a bit afraid that it is just some tourist trap not worth the money and the time spent travelling there from Amsterdam. A few days before departure I finally decided to give it a try and bought the tickets online. And I was really not disappointed!

Když jsem plánovala náš výlet do Amsterdamu, tak jsem opravdu chtěla navštívit i tulipánová pole. Přece jenom to byl můj dlouhodobý sen, vidět tulipány v Holandsku 🙂 Když jsem si hledala informace o tulipánových polích, narazila jsem na “zahradu Evropy” zvanou Keukenhof. Vypadala opravdu krásně, ale trochu jsem se bála, že to je jen turistická past, která nestojí za peníze a za čas, který člověk stráví cestou z Amsterdamu. Několik dní před odjezdem jsem se konečně rozhodla zahradu navštívit a koupila vstupenky online. Ještě že tak, páni, to byla nádhera. 

Visiting Keukenhof

Keukenhof is open every year and every day from mid-March to mid-May from 8:00 to 19:30. Here you can check the exact dates. If you want to enjoy it in quiet and piece I suggest you to visit it right after the opening time and not at the weekend. We went there on Friday morning and it was really nice but around 10 started to come really big crowds of people. Luckily at this time we were almost finished with our visit and went for a bus back to Amsterdam Airport. There we saw also a huge line for the bus to the garden so it is really better to wake up a bit earlier for this 🙂 

To avoid a line by the entrance of Keukenhof you can buy the tickets online here (but when we were coming in the morning there was actually no line), you can also combine tickets with transport. I choose for us combination of the bus from Amsterdam Airport + tickets to the garden and I paid 24,50 Eur per person. To see all garden you will need approximately three hours. Do not forget visit also the Willem-Alexander pavilion to see all the kinds of the tulips (had no idea there is so many of those).

Zahrada Keukenhof je otevřená každý rok a každý den od poloviny března do poloviny května od 8:00 do 19:30. Zde si můžete zjistit přesné datum. Pokud si ji chcete užít v klidu, doporučuji její návštěvu hned po otevření a ne o víkendu. Šli jsme tam v pátek ráno a bylo to opravdu fajn, ale kolem desáté začaly chodit obrovské davy lidí. Naštěstí v tuto dobu jsme byli téměř byli téměř u konce a chystali jsme se na autobus zpátky do Amsterdamu (autobus do zahrady vyjíždí z letiště Schiphol). Zpět v Amsterdamu jsme také viděli obrovskou řadu na autobus do zahrady, takže se opravdu vyplatí si přivstat 🙂

Pokud se chcete vyhnout řadě na vstupenky do zahrady Keukenhof, můžete si je koupit předem online zde (ale pokud přijdete hned ráno, tak se nějakých velkých řad nemusíte bát). Lístky si také můžete nakombinovat s dopravou. Já pro nás vybrala kombinaci autobusu z letiště + vstupenky do zahrady a zaplatila jsem 24,50 Eur na osobu. Chcete-li vidět zahradu celou, budete potřebovat přibližně tři hodiny. Nezapomeňte navštívit i pavilon Willem-Alexandr, kde uvidíte všechny možné druhy tulipánů (neměla jsem tušení, že jich existuje tolik).
