Before I travel to other cities I am always looking up the stuff what to do there besides the obvious sightseeing points. When I was doing some research for our next destination I had an idea to put together such a list for Prague. The first title was 30 fun things to do in Prague, but I was always coming up with new stuff so here is not 30 but 50 fun things to do in Prague! Enjoy your stay in Prague 🙂

1 Enjoy a bit of nature in the busy city centre and walk up to the Petřín Hill to enjoy some awesome views. Petřín hill is amazing in all seasons, my favourite is spring though when the trees are in the full bloom. At the top of the hill, you can climb to our little copy of Eiffel Tower 🙂 

2. Wondering where to go for dinner with live music? My personal favourite is Jazz Dock! Tasty food, nice ambience and amazing live music on the river. It is better to buy the tickets in advance. Here you can check the program.

3. I always love to stroll along Vltava river. When you go for a walk there, notice how beautiful are the buildings on the river banks. I often wonder how amazing would be to live there!

4. I guess Prague is not a very known destination for street food markets. Yet within last few years started to appear many street food events! Those are happening usually on the weekends and my favourites are those in Holešovice organized by Cross Club, you can check the events on their Facebook.

6. In summer is very popular to rent a pedal boat on the Vltava river. Price is usually 200 CZK per one hour. So grab your partner, friends or family and enjoy Prague from a different perspective. You can rent the pedal boats for example here.

7. My favourite part of Prague Castle? Definitely the South gardens! It is usually less crowded than the Castle and views are insane! The entrance is for free and gardens are open from April to October.

8. Another place for a good walk with amazing views is for sure Vyšehrad. You can even find here nice beer garden to refresh yourself in summer 🙂 More details about Vyšehrad you can find in this blog post of mine 🙂 

9. Fancy a fun night out? Do you like 80’s and 90’s music? I love the oldies music and when I was going out (now I am too lazy & lame for that 🙂 ) I usually went to Lucerna Music Bar. The oldies party is there every Friday and Saturday night from 9 PM and the entrance fee is just 100 CZK.

10. The Louvre Café was opened in 1902, and Albert Einstein and Franz Kafka were among the most famous guests of this place. You can not make a reservation here, but because of a large number of tables, you will never be waiting for long time in case the café is full. I like the café for a classical interior, a good service and great options also for vegetarians. P.S. They have excellent desserts.

11. Ok, we are not Italy with its perfect gelato, but even in Prague, you can find places where to eat tasty ice cream! Because what it is the better snack in hot summer? Ok, not just in summer 🙂 The best ice cream I ever tried in Prague was in Crème de la Crème in the Old Town! They offer vegan ice creams as well.

12. Do you like shopping at farmer’s markets? If so, you have to visit those in Prague. Really popular ones are in “Náplavka” (part of the riverside) every Wednesday and Saturday from 8 AM. The easiest way to get there is by tram to stop Výtoň or Palackého náměstí. Apart from fresh vegetables, fruits, pastries and so on, you will find here also coffee stalls, stalls with various cakes or beautiful fresh flowers.

13. Wondering where to enjoy the best view of Prague bridges? Then you have to find one viewpoint in Letenské sady. Check the directions how to get there in this blog post. 

14. Spend half day in ZOO. Did you know that Prague has the fifth best ZOO in the world? Prague Zoo is also the second most visited attraction in Prague! Admission costs 200 CZK per adult and you will need around 5 hours to see it all 🙂 Check more information on the official web here.

15. Are you curious to see the second ugliest building in the world? Then you can’t miss the visit of the Žižkov Television Tower! The entrance fee to the observatory where you can admire unique views of Prague costs 250 CZK. There is also a restaurant, bar and one hotel room at the top of the tower.

16. Christmas markets in Prague are among the best in the world! You can visit them every year in December, enjoy your mulled wine and a traditional pastry called Trdelník in the amazing festive atmosphere! Here is the list of major Christmas markets in Prague!

17. Not a fan of winter travelling? Ok, you can change the mulled wine for a beer or other refreshing beverage and festive atmosphere for summery and enjoy your time in Prague on the boat! Stop at the boat called Pivovarská loď Kapitán, where you can chill in the sunbeds.

18. If you enjoy slow fashion and design, you should definitely stop at some of the Prague’s design markets! For more information check the web Mint Market (they usually held markets every Friday and Saturday in Prague Market). Few times a year there is a big event called Dyzajn Market in the Piazzetta at the National Theatre, upcoming dates check here.

19. Enjoy a slow morning while eating some delicious brunch! Recently I published blog post where I am sharing my favourite brunch spots in Prague. You can read it right here 🙂

20. Take photos by Lennon Wall. This colourful graffiti wall is located at Velkopřevorské náměstí.

21. Enjoy a drink with the view over the Old Town Square! Visit famous rooftop called Terasa U Prince. Unfortunately, we did not try the food there (it seemed really overpriced, but I guess that is the price for a location & view), but it was nice to enjoy a glass of prosecco with this view!

22. Admire peacocks at Vojanovy Sady. These noble creatures can be found near Malostranská metro station. Vojanovy Sady are especially beautiful in springtime!

23. Eat some traditional Czech food! You can find many restaurants offering Czech cuisine in the centre of Prague, but my favourite one is U Kroka (near Vyšehrad), popular both for locals and tourists, reservation needed.

24. Enjoy a piece of nature in Prague Botanical Garden. This is a perfect place of all nature lovers who would like to escape busy city centre for a moment. Read more and see the photos from the Botanical garden here.

25. Relax in beer spa! Although you can find another beer spas in the centre, I would like to recommend you spa bit further, I personally tried it twice and it is just amazing. The place is called Lázně U Hastrmana and it is really worth the trip. Take a walk around the local pond and eat in their restaurant as well, you will not regret.

26. Take a walk in the largest park in Prague, Stromovka. This park offers paths for inline skating, romantic ponds and large meadows.

27. Once I had a chance to try bobsleigh track in Prague and it was such a fun! The track is 800 metres long and in the area is also a nice restaurant with panoramic view of Prague. One ride costs 70 CZK, more information and directions here.

29. I can not write about Prague and not mentioned beer, right? 🙂 If you would like to try the best of Czech craft beers, you have to go to Prague Beer Museum which is the bar that offers 30 kinds of beer on tap!

30. Do you enjoy music concerts? Then check program of O2 Arena, maybe you can see your favourite artist in Prague 🙂 Photo is from the show of amazing Muse! 

31. When coming to Prague in winter, ice skating might be a fun activity. Right in the city centre, you can find ice rink called Na Františku. Read more information in my post with tips how to enjoy Prague in winter.

32. Would you like to enjoy a nice picknick? Then Prague is perfect for you, there are so many parks where you can bring blanket and lot of yummy food. You can try for example Havlíčkovy Sady, Stromovka mentioned above or Letná park. 

33. Are you a cat lover? Then you have to visit one of the cat cafes in Prague and cuddle those beautiful furry animals while enjoying your coffee or tea 🙂 Currently, you can find 3 cat cafes, list here. 

34. Are you coming to Prague celebrate important anniversary or birthday? Or do you want to simply treat your self with excellent meals? Then you can make a reservation in one of the Michelin star restaurants in Prague. Check the list here. 

35. Where to enjoy a tasty beer with an amazing view of Prague? In Letná Beer Garden!

36. Visit the Old Town Bridge Tower to see the magnificent view over Charles Bridge! Ticket costs 100 CZK and there are 138 steps to climb. Check more photos in my blog post, you can see that it is definitely worth it 🙂

37.  Drink delicious local or Austrian wines in beautiful gazebo Viniční Altán. This gazebo is located in park Grebovka, read more information here.

38. Take a little trip very near Prague and visit chateau and park Průhonice! This place is perfect for everybody who loves to spend time in nature. Check photos and directions here. 

39. Watch the sunset from T-Anker. T-Anker is my favourite bar which I have already mentioned in this post about best views in Prague. 

40. Would you like to learn more about Czech beer? Then you might like a brewery tour in Pivovar Staropramen. Price of the tour is approx 200 CZK.

41. Vrtbovská zahrada is one of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Prague. The garden is open daily from April to October (10:00 -18: 00) and admission is 65 CZK (approx. 2,4 Eur). Entrance to the garden is located a few minutes by walk from the tram stop Malostranské náměstí and unfortunately is not very clearly marked, so you have to really watch for signs.

42. Would you like to see opera, drama or ballet? Then check the program of National Theatre in the centre of Prague.

43. And if you are not into theatre, buy some drinks and go to have a sit by the riverside while watching the sunset.

44. Book a river cruise. I had a chance to go on few of those in Prague and it was always so magical! There are many options from 1-hour cruises to 3-hours cruises with a full menu.

45. Feeling like going on a shopping spree? Then you can visit the biggest shopping centre in Prague – Chodov.

46. Visit the Dancing House a.k.a. Ginger and Fred, which is decorating Prague since 1996. If you enjoy the views you can go up with the elevator to the last floor where is located a bar with the view. For bar guests there is free access to the viewpoint, otherwise, the entrance fee is CZK 100.

47. Go to feed swans. My favourite spot is near Hergetova Cihelna. 

48. Visit Strahov library which was voted as the most beautiful library in the world! The library is open daily and the admission fee is 150 CZK. Find more details here.

49. Relax in café with the most beautiful garden! Speaking of café Alchymista, located in Letná district. It is a very known place for its garden seating and delicious cakes, so it is better to make a reservation in advance.

50. Enjoy a romantic walk in “Nový svět” quarter. This quarter is very charming and quiet (even when it is right next to the most visited attraction – Prague Castle). Check my blog post where I am sharing how to get there and also tip for beautiful café.
